Joey is our seven-year-old, half-Husky (we joke that he's also half-jackass). We adopted him from 11th Hour Rescue in February, and though he's still adjusting to life with us, he seems to be incredibly excited to be with us. We don't know his exact history, but we know he was taken from Georgia and brought to New Jersey, he lived in a shelter for almost a year, and he had been in a foster home for a while when we adopted him.
He occasionally is a little weird around other dogs (we think he may have had to compete for food with other dogs in his previous life), but he's incredibly gentle and loving with people once he gets over his shyness. He's met a couple of the smaller children in the neighborhood when he's out for a walk, and he loves the attention he gets from them, and he definitely returns it in kind.
He won't eat his dry kibble until we put a pinch of shredded cheese on top of it, and he loves rubbing up against the sides of our bed and couch. He was crate trained when we got him, but ... well, now he's spoiled. The last photo shows the remains of his crate bed. Someday I'll upload the remains of the actual crate itself. I'll post some videos once I put them on my computer, too.
